19 May – Star Wars star John Boyega is set to reunite with director Joe Cornish for the sequel to his cult sci-fi movie, "Attack the Block".

The actor, who plays the role of hoodlum leader Moses in the original 2011 film, will reprise his role in the second movie that is being written and to be helmed by original director, Joe Cornish.

Speaking about the project, the actor stated, "It's been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then. I'm excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour."

The original sci-fi comedy horror centres on a teenage street gang who have to defend themselves from predatory alien invaders on a council estate in South London on Guy Fawkes Night. It co-stars Jodie Whittaker, Alex Esmail, Luke Treadaway and Nick Frost.

The original movie revolves around a group of hooligans trying to survive an alien attack

Cornish expressed similar enthusiasm for the project, saying that he can't wait to work with Boyega again.

Boyega is also set to produce the project alongside previous co-producers Nira Park (through the new company Complete Fiction formed with Cornish and Edgar Wright) and James Wilson.

Boyega later made a career in Hollywood playing Finn in JJ Abrams' "Star Wars"
